The ‘Back Block’ vineyard is located at Ohiti Estate. While ‘backblock’ is a generic term – many people live in the back blocks (i.e. isolated hill country), and every farm has a back block. The ‘Back Block’ at Ohiti is exactly that, and is literally at the back, surrounded by hills on a shingle free draining terrace, facing to the northeast, thus ideal for growing and ripening Syrah grapes.
TASTING NOTES
The ‘Back Block’ Syrah has proven to be an excellent food wine; hence it is served in restaurants in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. Bold and elegant, the 2021 ‘Back Block’ Syrah has a mouthful of wild berries, dark plums, along with pepper, spice and succulent ripe tannins. The dark magenta colour immediately suggests it is from a very good vintage and the flavours are ripe. The ‘Back Block’ Syrah is one of Brookfield’s most popular wines – do enjoy it! This 2021 ‘Back Block’ Syrah – another addition to the legacy.

The policy is for 30 days. We will not replace or refund your purchase after 30 days from the date of purchase.
In order for your item to be considered eligible for return it must be in its original packaging, unopened and in the same state as you received it in. It must also be in the original packaging.
