Dry River Martinborough Pinot Noir 13% 2022 750ml
Dense pinot noir with flavours across the ripeness spectrum from fresh herbs and rhubarb to cassis and dark berries. There is also a suggestion of violet, floral and liquorice characters. A little closed right now but with a promising future. The wine opened up as it sat in the glass. Might be worth decanting.
TASTING NOTES
Big, dense aromas of cherries, exotic spices, plums and florals – a gorgeous nose that shows more classical early identity than some past vintages (which took years to show their true potential). Perfectly pure with sensational concentration, complexity and fine, integrated tannins, everything is in place here, the ripeness perfectly judged and the balance simply perfect. This will be one of the greats, cellar now to 2036 and well beyond.
